And this time Lauren loved the ocean! She sat in the sand for a few minutes and adjusted to the new environment. After a few test grabs in the sand she decided it was a-okay and took off crawling. She even crawled right own onto the wet sand and into the very edge of the surf.

She didn't cry until a big wave came in and wet her entire bottom. Like most babies on the beach, she tasted the sand on her fingers and even bent down to taste the water (pictured below). She picked up shells and handed them to Mommy or Grandma.

Oh my gosh, these pictures are awesome, Liz. I love the one of you two together, but my favorite has to be of her tasting the ocean. Isn't that just the picture of our lives right now?! What can I touch? what I can taste? What can I squish or pound or shake or (now) step on!?
I'm so pleased for you that she enjoyed the beach ... that will make future trips all the more fun! :)
We miss Grandma and Papa...and the beach! I'm so glad Lauren is enjoying the beach this time too.
Oh Lauren, I already miss you terribly! Please give mommy a kiss for me. I'll be back from India before you know it (literally)! :)
