Our nephew Bryce sent us an email today.
Here it is:
Hi.
My name is Bryce Mouse. although I am the next- to- the- youngest in my play group, some have said that I am big for my age - and that I have an unusually large head. I am not so sure. Can you tell which one I am....?
...... others have said that I have wisdom and understanding beyond my months regarding some things - things that others in my play group simply do not yet understand and that leave them in wonder and amazement......
but most of all, I just really love to wrestle with and scare the girls (and boys too sometimes)...

It's certain not to last, but we enjoyed some great Sprint weather today. We started the day slowly, by sleeping-in to go to the late church service. Afterward, we grabbed a quick bite to eat with friends.
When we got home, we went to work around the house. We cleaned up the outdoor spaces, washed the windows, and planted some new things. To be on the safe-side, we only planted cold-weather plants, and loaded-up a several planters of pansies. We also decided to try a few cold-weather vegetables, so we planted a couple varieties of lettuce, as well as some cauliflower and spinach. The whole neighborhood was out, as well. We had a nice time chatting with a few of them.
After all that work, we grilled a few pork chops. We're *still* eating from that bargain bonanza we told you about last summer! Tonight, we had a couple Ditka's pork chops. Liz also sautéed some nice onions and garlic, and a spinach salad.
Afterward, we went to the roof. We were able to see the impact the new building has had on our skyline view -- not much impact, luckily. We can't see the residential towers and Lincoln Park anymore, but they were never much to look at, anyway.

The people on our church Bible study threw a baby shower for us today. They also amazed us with their generosity, giving us a huge number of things from our registry. They also made some great food.

For Jace's birthday, Liz made a great dinner. We found some MASSIVE crab legs at our local CostCo. They were each 2-3 feet long! I had no idea they were that big!
Liz also made a great salad that included strawberries.

In honor of Liz's 30th, we got together with a collection of friends. We started with Dinner at Ambria in the Chef's room at the back of the kitchen. Afterward, our friends joined us for a party.
Liz's friend Heather is also turning 30, so we made the event a double-header.
The cake is from Alliance Bakery in our neighborhood.
Doesn't Liz look great in her snazzy dress?!
