We had a fun Easter holiday. We started with the 8:30 church service, and then had a few
friends over to our place. We had Heather and Steve Huck, newlyweds Vann and Amanda Bishoff, and Emily Poole (a.k.a. Chicago Charlotte).

Liz made some great food on our new appliances. She experimented with making a ham, cheese, and asparagus fritatta that turned out great. The event also gave us a chance to use our good china and crystal, including the platter that Saundra got us and the creamer from Aunt Charlotte.

For an additional treat, Jace and Van walked down the French pastry shop and picked a selection of goodies. Our favorite was the "Mouse Mousse" -- it appears that we're going to fit-into our new neighborhood just fine. :)

The girls also spent some time "pre-shopping" for a new "big girl" purse that Liz wants to buy. It was fun to display the computer on our new TV. It turned web surfing into a spectator sport.

Later in the afternoon, a guy stopped by to look at buying our old appliances -- he spent less than 30 seconds in our place, hardly looked at them, and paid us our full asking price! He picks them up tomorrow.

We decided to upgrade the kitchen in our new place. The appliances that typically come with new construction condos are notoriously cheap. Ours were already starting to show their age and encounter some minor hiccups.
We shopped-around for last year's models and had great success! We ended-up with some really nice high-end appliances at really reasonable prices. Jace's favorite feature is the crushed ice dispenser in the refrigerator door. Liz likes the convection oven and the little disco movies that play on the microwave while it's cooking our food. (Ask her to see the matching disco dance.) :)
The installers were going to charge $450 to install everything, but Jace was able to do it for us. The next step is to list all the old appliances online at Craig's List to see who will buy them. We'll be able to donate whatever doesn't sell to the Salvation Army.

We decided this would be a fun way to keep everyone updated. Our postings will probably feel a bit like a "Christmas letter;" heavy on good news, short on bad news, and generally laden with healthy doses of out-right bragging.
Our plan is to update it every week or so.
Also, feel free to try-out the comment feature located at the bottom of every posting. The comments will automatically be added to the webpage for everyone to see.
